Privacy Policy

Vakya ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using Vakya you agree to this policy.

What we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We use this to create and identify your account.
• Device identifier. A randomly generated ID for your installation, used to sync your preferences, streak, and favorites before and after you sign in.
• App data. Your saved (favorited) verses, daily streak, reminder preferences, chosen theme, and language.
• Notification token. If you allow notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can deliver your daily verse and announcements.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to operate the app: to keep you signed in, sync your verses and streak across devices, send the notifications you opt into, and improve the experience. We do not use it for any other purpose.

Third-party services

We use Google Sign-In for authentication and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) solely to deliver push notifications. These services process data under their own privacy policies. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on our own servers and database. We take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account, your saved verses, your notification token, and your profile information from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

Children

Vakya is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
