न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचि न्नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूयः। अजो नित्यः शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे।।2.20।।
Transliteration
na jāyate mriyate vā kadāchin nāyaṁ bhūtvā bhavitā vā na bhūyaḥ ajo nityaḥ śhāśhvato ’yaṁ purāṇo na hanyate hanyamāne śharīre
Translation
It is never born and it never dies. It did not come into being and it will not cease to be. Unborn, eternal, ancient, and ever the same, it is not destroyed when the body is destroyed.

यह न कभी जन्म लेती है, न कभी मरती है। यह न उत्पन्न हुई थी, न कभी मिटेगी। अजन्मा, शाश्वत, सनातन और सदा एक-सी, शरीर के नष्ट होने पर भी यह नष्ट नहीं होती।
